Class Details

Join Tania for this 5 week block. A chance to explore the foundational postures and sequences that make up the basis of the Ashtanga Yoga system. We will also examine different breathing techniques and other practices that underpin the fundamental principles of the system. This course is open to all, the only requirements are comfy clothes and a willingness to engage with your own experience of movement and breath. About Tania I was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga in 1999 while studying for a degree in contemporary dance at UNITEC in Auckland. I took my first trip to Mysore, India in 2004 to study with Sharath Jois and have made numerous trips back over the years, spending months at a time studying. Subsequently I have received authorisation level 2 from Sharath. In 2006 I moved to London and spent 15 years there practicing, apprenticing and covering Hamish Hendry at Ashtanga Yoga London. I have run several Mysore programs, most recently at Triyoga Soho. In 2022 I moved back to my hometown of Upper Hutt with my family.
